UNEXPECTED GUEST

What is Happening Out There?

I Can Hear The Clickety Clack of the Keys

And The Obnoxious Ticking of The Clock!

As soon as it's Hands,

Strike Midnight,

The Clickety Clack Stops

And The Bizarre Noise of The Pendulum,

Turns Me Out and About!

I Slide Myself Out of Bed,

Thoughts Running Round My Head,

A Trickle Of Sweat Waiting To Shed!

Inching Myself Out Of The Room,

With Steps Of A New Walker,

I Make Way To The Stairway,

And the Wooden Stairs Rumbling,

My Stomach Fearfully Grumbling

Turning Itself Into A Thousand Knots!

Soon The Stairwell Ends,

And My Fear Now Ascends,

The Lights Start Blinking Unusually,

I Can See Someone Entering Uninvitedly!

I Shut My Eyes Tight,

Bracing Myself With All The Might!

The Door Opens

"BANG"

I Expect a Gun or a Dagger,

But All Put Together,

It's Just The Old-Wrinkled Gatekeeper!
