You are the dawn to my dusk

I am the dusk to your dawn

Droplets could form at Dawn

Meet each other at Dusk

If only you have the power to own

Never let the heart unhusk

Drowning in the floods of emotions and passionate for love, Aditya and Nayna are living on the 27th Floor of Dawnusk Building near Juhu, Mumbai.

They have a view of sealine with little drops of crystalline water drooping over their windowpane, vivaciously scorning for their one sight of being together. Aditya being a class topper and a go getter, got selected in an MNC with 7 figures annual package with a 9 to 7 executive officer job whereas Nayna is hustling her way being a freelancer has a shift of 24*7.

At the rim of getting down and getting up, both crossed paths only during the dawn and dusk. For Aditya to fulfil his ambitions, Nayna gave up on a stable career, a job of creative head in Time Magazine to look after Aditya and his home. Days passed by in their 8 years of being married to one another. Their passion of love was tainted with dust over their lack of expression and suppressed emotions for one another.

Mistakenly their love is not one between a boy and a girl of some Bollywood romanticized movie, their love is shifted from one another to their ambitions and aspirations.

At dawn, when Nayna shuts off her computer, in the wait of Aditya to get up, she stares at the windowpane, sees the drops of water, twiddling on top of one another, crossing their paths, meeting one droplet to another and finding their way down to the edge of their balcony.

Deep down in her thoughts, Nayna recalls the time when she would get up before dawn, get dressed up for that one boy from her college, walk around 10 miles every day, fidgeting her way in between classes, just to get a glance of Aditya from that corner of the corridor where their laboratories would dwell one beside another. “Would you come by today for a revision?” Nayna would ask with eyes stuck down to her big size feet. “No.. I have football practice and then Rohan is coming home for assessments, you will not be able to cope up with our speed of revision, let’s meet post exams. My place!” Aditya replied hurriedly as always and left Nayna Agitated and heartbroken. But as the noon would pass and dusk would brighten up the sky, so would Aditya pin down to Nayna’s place with a handful of flowers after her football practice would come by. Nayna would smile till her edge of the lips meet her eyes. A small conversation of two sentences got them together for a lifetime. A moment from dusk till dawn would get Nayna through her grades and Aditya through her competitions. Their synergies started aligning with one another so much so that they were soon inseparables than ever.

But.

Just as the droplets had a touchdown on the balcony edge, Nayna came back to reality, waiting for Aditya to get up, only to hear “I am getting late, DO NOT Wait for me. I will eat outside with my friends and come back late” all over again. This has been their routine from more than a year now.

Nayna would wait and stretch her eyes up and down until Aditya leaves her all alone in the 5BHK apartment without a pinch of guilt or love for her.

Nayna would sleep for a while, get her afternoon routine, have a healthy lunch post her cardiac workout. Have an hour of reading time, go out for grocery shopping, come back home, cook dinner (for her alone), eat hastily just to get down with a bath that would calm her anxieties. Be ready for Aditya to get back home before she starts her work. But today, Aditya was late again. From 6 to 7 to 8 to 10 to 11 at night, Aditya was found to be nowhere. Not reachable. Not in service. Scared and terrified by the fact that she was all alone, she called up every friend of Aditya and eventually a doorbell rang, came in with a breath of strong alcohol, abusive and arrogant Aditya who had nothing but complaints for his boss, his teammates and Nayna too. Shouting and cribbing and breaking down, Aditya got the worst of himself and said the unsaid to Nayna.

That was the dusk that set the sun in their relationship forever and Nayna left the house before the day could start in the silent dawn, before the droplets could set on their windowpane, their raffling curtains were hung dry and window pane was pale, there was no one to wait for Aditya to get up today and no one waiting for the sun to shine.

Moral:

The synergies would live if you had compassion, love, and emotions for one another even if you have a time of only two minutes at dawn and dusk. But if you lose on the preciousness of the relationship, even the togetherness of being 24*7 with one another makes your walls run behind you in an empty apartment.

A story of two passionate individuals was interrupted due to dawn and dusk synergies. An imbalance of seesaw that never gets on in the lives of Nayna and Aditya.
