Lousy Poet Blues

POEMSENGLISHJULY 2024

From the ashes of mediocrity

To the bronze age of Rome

At the edge of curiosity

And at the lens of your home

As the books of old are pouring

Written glimpses flash and shimmer

Ink spots fill the fields of exploring

The clouds of creation grow dimmer

Alone stand the words of Eden

As serpent eyes revolve

Might of Zeus left there bleedin’

With songs that strain to resolve

Children of land left without clues

Wisdom sprung from a poet’s blues
